The Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS), ETH Zurich and the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) are teaming up to develope more accurate weather and climate models that are even better adapted to the latest computer architectures.
Torsten Hoefler, ETH professor of computer science, will join the Swiss National Supercomputing Center (CSCS) on September 1, 2023. His expertise will help to ensure that the future, new CSCS supercomputer "Alps" becomes usable for machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI).
