Spotlight on spin-off companies and pulses
At ETH Zurich's round "Start-up Tower", five promising spin-offs and start-ups will present how they want to make food production more sustainable. Their fields of business range from the acre to the plate - it's all about vertical farming, digital agricultural technology and alternative proteins that taste good and preserve the environment.
Visitors will discover the potential of soy, pea, bean and co. for human nutrition and learn how digital technologies can help to avoid pesticides and fertilisers
The ETH Spin-off Yasai explains how vertical farming can be particularly resource-conserving.
The ETH Spin-off Planted produces delicious meat from alternative proteins, focusing on the perfect bite.
The ETH Start-up Caterra presents a weeding robot that kills weeds using artificial intelligence and laser light.

Games as highlights of the exhibition
Four interactive games await visitors at the family-friendly ETH stand - a "drone course", the "rumen simulator", the "Jenga of agricultural policy" and "Morph Tales - discover artificial intelligence".
The games introduce key research questions from the fields of crops, food and animal nutrition and promote an understanding of artificial intelligence.
Children can also colour in various motifs that virtually come to life.
How can we breed climate-tolerant and disease-resistant crop varieties?
Drones, sensors and cameras accurately document aspects the development of different crop varieties in the field, enabling new varieties to be bred more quickly.
The challenge: will you manage to accurately steer the drone over the test field?
How can we produce as much sustainable food as possible on as little land as possible?
Agricultural policy is about balancing the food system in such a way that it provides us with affordable and healthy food, enables farmers to make a living and maintains resources for the long term.
The challenge: try your hand at the tricky Jenga of agricultural policy. But beware – it’s a very special kind of balancing act.

What characterises a reliable AI that generates comprehensible results?
In "Morph Tales – Discovering Artificial Intelligence", everything revolves around a young, studious artificial intelligence called Morph. She dreams of being able to one day take part in a Mars mission. But before she can do so, she has to pass the tricky entrance exam to Morphtopia.
The game: As Morph’s new trainer, you’ll help her master a number of challenges on a varied test course. The game is for young people and adults.
Augmented reality can enhance creativity.
Children can colour in the characters in the book and bring them to three-dimensional life with the help of a tablet and the Augmented Creativity app.
