Office of Infrastructure

The members of the Office of Infrastructure support the Vice President Infrastructure in his activities which he tackles together with the leaders of his administrative departments:

  • the management of construction projects including the corresponding relations to the public and political authorities as well as the management of the real estate portfolio
  • conduct planning projects
  • operational safety/security and environmental protection
  • ICT management
  • the information and knowledge management (library)

Special tasks

With the Scientific Equipment Program, the evaluation of costly equipment purchases is carried out according to scientific aspects and efficiency criteria, taking into account the strategy and goals of the ETH.

The initial and replacement procurement of scientific equipment and ICT facilities, which must be financed from additional funds, is managed by the Equipment Commission, co-chaired by the Vice President for Infrastructure and the Vice President for Research.
