Knowledge Fair
Share your mission, inspire our students, and make valuable contacts
ETH Week features various formats throughout the week that foster the exchange between students and experts. One of them is Knowledge Fair: a unique opportunity for students to get in touch with experts from academia, industry, the public sector, and NGOs, who present their latest research, talk about current projects, introduce inspiring organizations and share their expertise.
Your role as an expert
Each session starts with an elevator pitch from your side (2-3 minutes) followed by an open discussion with the students (approx. 10 minutes). The elevator pitch is meant to cover the key results from your research or the main activities of your organisation, and how they relate to the topic. We kindly ask you to keep the elevator pitch rather short in order to give the students enough time to ask questions. The students will have prepared questions that can be rather general or very specific. After 15 minutes, the students will move on to the next expert. Please note that the event takes place in English.
Stand set-up
All Knowledge Fair stands are identically set up:
2 Pinboards (120x180cm): up to two posters A0 (portrait)
1 Standing table (Ø70cm): for exhibits/samples (or a laptop)
There will be electricity, but no screen. We encourage all experts to work with posters/printouts and we are happy to assist with printing.

Follow up
Your input oftentime will lead to new questions emerging for the students after the Knowledge Fair. It would be very valuable for them, if they could contact you for a brief follow up on Wednesday afternoon (13 September). You are welcome to provide students with a time window in which they can reach you via phone or E-mail. Please let us know if you are not available for the follow up.
Why be part of Knowledge Fair?
The Knowledge Fair is a great way to share your expertise and introduce your research, project, or organization to ETH students. It is also a unique opportunity to meet both ETH researchers and experts from other organizations. And, most importantly, it will allow you to get in touch with some very talented and extremely motivated students, who might well become your next intern or employee!
