IT Training Lab
The IT Training Lab provides ETH Zurich with services for training IT trainees and support for both trainees and trainers.
During their first year, our IT trainees are familiarised with their vocational training in the IT Training Lab. They are taught basic competency in the areas of workplace computing, Web programming, principles of information technology, networks, servers, basic services, automation and support. Building on this sound basic education, the trainees can spend their second to fourth year working productively in a division within IT Services or in an IT Support Group (ISG) within a department, where they can get more in-depth training. To ensure the basic training is interesting and varied, the trainees are started on project-based work as early as possible and they alternate between independent work and teamwork.
They also attend coures such as interdisciplinary courses and LearnIT events where they can deepen their professional knowledge.
In the IT Training Lab, computer specialists are currently being trained in the field of system engineering.
IT Training Lab services
The training is devided into two parts. Trainees complete their first year of basic training in the IT Training Lab. From the second to fourth year, they work in an ISD in a department or in a division within IT Services.
