ETHIS: Personal data
With the ETHIS employee portal, you can independently maintain your personal data, view your employment data or pay slips, and record your working hours.

ETH Zurich offers various vocational apprenticeships for young adults.

The non-occupational accident contributions are reduced.
Unemployment insurance
The contribution rate for unemployment insurance is 2.2 percent. It is borne equally by the employer and the employees.
As of January 1, 2023, the solidarity percentage (for the salary portion of more than CHF 148,200.00) will be eliminated as a means to reducing the debt of the unemployment insurance.
Pension fund
Persons who reach the minimum wage of CHF 22,050 are insured in the second pillar.
Any request for retroactive ordinary tax assessment for the year 2022 must be submitted to the competent cantonal tax office (canton of residence) by 31 March 2023.
Employees who are subject to withholding tax are required by law to report any additional sources of income to ETH Zurich on an ongoing basis.
This information and any changes to partner data, family situation or place of residence must be entered promptly in ETHIS under Persönlich > Anstellung & Lohn > Withholding tax.

Investigating the status of women faculty at ETH
In November 2021, the President of ETH Zurich, Joel Mesot, and the Vice President for Personnel Development and Leadership, Julia Dannath, appointed seven professors to investigate the current situation of women faculty at ETH Zurich. The aim is to gain an insight into how things stand today.
“Time to shine”: the 2023 apprentice graduation ceremony
“Time to shine”: this was the motto of the ceremony on the 6th of July celebrating the completion of vocational training at ETH Zurich for 42 apprentices. The 2023 graduation ceremony represents a major stepping stone in their ongoing career path.
New guest regulations in force from 1 July 2023
Anyone wishing to register a guest at ETH Zurich will in future be able to do this in one of 14 guest categories by means of a new process. This will create more transparency and increase security.
