Admission requirements with non-Swiss matriculation certificate

There are three types of admission to the first semester of the desired Bachelor’s degree programme:
- Admission without entrance examination
- Admission contingent upon passing the Downloadreduced entrance examination (PDF, 526 KB)vertical_align_bottom (4 examination subjects)
- Admission contingent upon passing the Downloadcomprehensive entrance examination (PDF, 586 KB)vertical_align_bottom (8 examination subjects)
Language requirements
The main teaching language in all Bachelor’s degree programmes is German. However, some individual courses may be conducted in English or French. Prospective Bachelor’s students must satisfy ETH’s language requirements to be admitted. This may mean submitting a certificate of proficiency in German.
